Hi there,
I’m Kylar

and music is my passion.

So is teaching. I love nothing more than instilling a love of musical arts within others, helping them discover the talent and skills hidden within.

Bio

I earned my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of North Dakota and am currently pursuing a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. My graduate research focuses on accessible music education, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and effective teaching strategies for both neurotypical and neurodiverse students in one-on-one lesson settings.

I have been playing piano for 16 years and have been teaching private piano lessons for the past eight years. Throughout my musical career, I have performed in nine solo recitals and have participated in bands, choirs, chamber ensembles, and other collaborative performance groups. I especially enjoy working as an accompanist and regularly perform for weddings, funerals, church services, parties, and other special events.

Teaching is one of my greatest passions. I enjoy working with students of all ages and experience levels, from young beginners to more advanced pianists, and strive to create an encouraging, engaging learning environment where every student can grow with confidence.

I am a member of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the North Dakota Music Educators Association (NDMEA), and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) through the Greater Grand Forks Chapter.
